Z2TrackDays 2008 CycleJam 250K Endurance - August 25, 2008
Reno-Fernley Raceway

WOW! What an event. This was the first time Z2Trackdays ( or any track day provider ) has hosted and run a full race event. They inlisted excelent help. The Crew out at RFR helped out huge and the weekend went off excelent. It also included the only double header of the Morawaki 250H race series. If you haven't seen these bikes run, they are incredible.

The Endurance course was a new configuration for RFR and it worked out really well. very little rest and stil a bit bumpy, but it made for a really exciting race.

check out the team write up as they come online.

AFM 2007 4-hour Endurance @ Infineon

CODE 4 Racing entered Charlie's SV650 in the AFM 4-Endurance race at Infineon at the end of September. We had Charlie, Scott and Dan and a good shot at a great finish. The Endurance race is split up in classes by displacement ( size of engine ) so the 650 Twin is in the 600 class against all of the big gun 600's ( GSXR, R6, ZX6, etc... ). It is out gunned, but at Infineon, horsepower is not everything .

We had a good start with Scott on the bike, but quickly hit our first "snag" when we found out we had the wrong rear wheel on the bike. We had to call Scott in for a quick rear wheel change and then we were back on our way. After the first hour, we did a rider swap to Dan and CODE 4 Racing was still looking good despite our early stops. Well, an hour and ten minutes into his session... there was discussion in the pits as to when to bring him in. The decision was one lap too many and the bike ran out of gas on the inside of turn 6. We were sure to lose MANY laps to this issue, but ... that's endurance racing. There was a crash on the exit of turn 6 within two laps and we were under a full course RED flag. This allowed us to push the bike in to the pits and refuel ( and make the well needed rider change ). This put Charlie on the bike for the last leg. He finished out the last hour without issue.

We had a very busy pit for this event with all the action. Our thanks go out to Matt and Jen Petrali, Michelle Sewell, David Lucero, Eric Odel, Steve and BreaAnne Hylan , Sean, Russ, and the whole AFM staff for organizing the event.

These are just some random shots taken throughout the day.
